Exa4mind – Extreme Analytics for Mining Data spaces

A letter from Jan Martinovič

Dear reader,

We are in the middle of the journey with our ambitious EXA4MIND project. Our goal of building an Extreme Data Platform that combines data storage systems and powerful computing infrastructures is taking clearer shape. We have reached milestones that are helping us to move forward and make continuous progress. Therefore, I would like to thank the whole consortium for their hard work and contributions, which have resulted in innovative solutions to complex everyday data processing problems.

In this issue, we look at the transformative power of data and the critical role of the European Union’s data strategy. The strategy aims to foster innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability by creating Common European Data Spaces. Read why the EXA4MIND project complements the development of these data spaces and supports the FAIR principles for research data management.

The DataNexus cluster, a newly formed group of seven EU projects, is tackling the challenges of extreme data from diverse sources. Take a look at the cutting-edge technologies they are using and their goals. The EXA4MIND project and StandICT.eu have joined forces to set standards for big data management and processing across Europe. Read about their partnership and see what it will bring.

The presence of EXA4MIND’s partners at conferences such as HPCSE 2024, CVPR 2024, ISC High Performance 2024, and iRODS UGM 2024 demonstrates their active role in the global research community. Find out more about these events, which provide platforms for sharing advances and fostering new collaborations.

Stay tuned and follow us on this exciting journey.
