The ISC High Performance 2025 event was held in Hamburg, Germany, from 10 to 13 June. It brought together over 3,000 technology developers, providers, and users, fostering a strong sense of community. This year marked the 40th anniversary of the world’s leading forum for advancing the application of high-performance computing in academia, government and the private sector. The annual event aims to promote global knowledge, innovation and collaboration in this field.
As in previous years, the project coordinator, IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center, represented EXA4MIND at this important event. Jan Martinovič, Kateřina Slaninová, Martin Golasowski, David Číž and Markéta Dobiašová — representing IT4Innovations and EXA4MIND — travelled to Hamburg to promote the project at a booth in collaboration with the OpenWebSearch.eu project. The two projects are linked through the LEXIS Platform 2.
They welcomed more than 220 visitors to the booth, where they provided information on the EXA4MIND project and its application cases. A particular highlight for attendees was the EXA4MIND raffle. Two lucky people won a portable hard drive or a magnetic power bank, courtesy of EXA4MIND. The project also took the opportunity to promote itself and its social media channels.
The TOP500 list was also unveiled at the ISC High Performance Conference in Hamburg. This year’s rankings not only reaffirmed the dominance of U.S. supercomputers but also marked a historic leap forward for European computing. Supercomputer El Capitan (USA) retained its crown with a staggering 1.742 exaflops of performance. Second place holds the system Frontier (USA) with 1.353 exaflops, and the third rank belongs to the cluster Aurora (USA) delivering over 1 exaflop. The supercomputer JUPITER (Germany) debuted at number four currently achieving 793.4 petaflops. HPC6 (Italy), Alps (Switzerland), LUMI (Finland) and Leonardo (Italy) continue to hold strong positions in the global top 10.
The next ISC High Performance conference will be held from 20 to 26 June 2026 in Hamburg.
