Exa4mind – Extreme Analytics for Mining Data spaces

At the end of January, Osaka (Japan) became the meeting point for the global high‑performance computing community as it hosted SCA/HPCAsia 2026, a major HPC event in the Asia‑Pacific region. The conference brought together two important events – SupercomputingAsia (SCA) and HPCAsia – creating a forum for researchers, industry experts, and technology providers.

This year’s conference, held under the theme “Everything with HPC – AI, Cloud, QC and the Future Society”, explored the growing integration of high‑performance computing with artificial intelligence, cloud ecosystems, and quantum technologies fields that are set to play a major role in driving future technological progress. Participants enjoyed a diverse programme ranging from keynotes and tutorials to workshops and BoF sessions. A major feature of the event was the exhibition area, which showcased more than 100 institutions, companies, and research projects.

The EXA4MIND partners used this opportunity to present the project and its outcomes. Mohamad Hayek from the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre introduced the poster “Tapping Data Spaces in HPC: Enabling, Exploring and Benchmarking Database & Object Store Usage.” The poster “Easy Molecular Dynamics on HPC with EXA4MIND” was presented by David Číž from IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center. The project coordinator Jan Martinovič explained the “EXA4MIND AI Inference Service Solution” and Pinar Karagoz from Middle East Technical University presented the poster “How to Make Data Pipeline Scalable: A Case Study for Healthcare Data Analytics.”

SCA/HPCAsia 2026 was hosted at the Osaka International Convention Center (also known as Grand Cube Osaka) and brought together 2,636 participants from across the globe. The next conference, SCA/HPCAsia 2027, is scheduled to take place in Singapore from 15 to 19 March 2027.
