Exa4mind – Extreme Analytics for Mining Data spaces

The first ISC High Performance conference took place in 1986. Since then, ISC has grown into the world’s oldest and Europe’s most important HPC conference, bringing together experts, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss advancements in high-performance computing, machine learning, data analytics, and quantum computing.

The ISC High Performance 2024 took place in the German port of Hamburg from 12 to 16 May 2024. It was a vibrant gathering of more than 3,400 international attendees from the academic, research, and business sectors. This year´s conference theme was ‘Reinventing HPC’, emphasizing the need for a new perspective on high-performance computing.

IT4Innovations was one of the conference exhibitors. It promoted its activities and international projects in which it is currently involved. One of the promoted projects was EXA4MIND, which IT4Innovations coordinates. Our partners Jan Martinovič and Martin Golasowski from the Czech National Supercomputing Center (IT4Innovations) attended the conference. Besides enjoying the great lectures and discovering the latest innovations, they shared their valuable insights with other scientists and experts and discussed further developments in various projects, including EXA4MIND.

During the conference, the TOP500 list of the world’s most powerful supercomputers was announced. The first rank is taken by the supercomputer Frontier, which has a theoretical peak performance of 1.71 EFlop/s and is installed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The second place belongs to the Aurora supercomputer from Argonne National Laboratory, and the third place goes to Microsoft Azure’s Eagle.

More info about the conference can be found here. The next ISC conference will be held from 10 to 13 June 2025 in Hamburg.
